Mid-morning view from our campsite in Mueller State Park.
I was off having an “adventure” over the weekend with a few friends. We camped for two days in Mueller State Park, and it was a lot of fun.
We had really nice weather until Saturday night, when a 15-minute rain shower turned into a 3-hour thunderstorm. The rest of the trip was great. The view from our site was especially impressive. I think we just got lucky to get such a nice spot.
We went for a half-day hike on Saturday, and despite the heat, it was also nice. I have to admit, it’s a lot less tiring with friends. We stopped for lunch by the side of a pond, which provided some coolness to help with the heat.
Before the rainstorm on Saturday (which caused numerous problems including a leaking tent), we at least got to take advantage of the sunset. It gave the whole meadow behind our site a glowing, soft look. The long shadows also made for some cool photos. We also attempted to be fancy and take photos of each of us sitting in the meadow, but I definitely am better at landscapes than people, so I’m avoiding putting those here. I still like the ones here.
Not to mention the lovely flowers that scattered the meadow. Of course, I had to take a photo of the flowers. 🙂
So it was a long, tiring, awesome weekend. 🙂
